SURFACTANTS
Surfactants are a wide family of very versatile and basic cosmetic ingredients to create the different formulations and their textures.
The variety of options that exist on the market makes it necessary to choose the right one every time, depending on one’s requirements. Sometimes we need a very specific product, while in other cases we prefer a more versatile one.
It is important to pay close attention to their characteristics and properties, related to their polarity and molecular weights, but also to their three-dimensional structures and ability to form micelles.
The percentage of active matter, and the HLB, are two essential elements to always keep in mind
